The Devil’s Carnival (2012)
Three individuals have, somehow, found their way to a carnival, set in hell, and run by the devil. Lost souls enter The Devil’s Carnival where they are each faced with the sins they committed in life.
Rating:My favourite part of the movie was all of the props and outfits! So great! Bizarre sort of movie that is hard to describe - only seen the first part of it - I believe it’s been split into three parts

Sinister (2012)
A true-crime writer finds a cache of 8mm “snuff” films that suggest the murder he is currently researching is the work of a serial killer whose career dates back to the 1960s.
Rating: I thought that this movie was very good! We very much enjoyed the movie Insidious so was rather exciting they made a new movie together! The story was interesting and kept your attention for the whole thing. They music was also fantastic, I got the soundtrack after watching it :)

The Haunting of Whaley house (2012)
Just because you don’t believe in ghosts, doesn’t mean they don’t believe in you!
Personal opinion: The trailer for this movie looked alot better than the actual movie was. It was exactly a bad movie I just probably won’t bother to watching it again

6 Degrees if Hell (2012)
Six people and their lives are stitched together by a supernatural force that has laid claim to one of them. A Halloween haunted establishment is ground zero for a paranormal perfect storm inadvertently touched off by a seemingly random series of events.

Paranoir review: ok so i’m just going to be straight up honest with you all and say, this movie was around a 90 minute run time, the first hour was alot of cheesy, weird, not much structure and badly strung together scenes but the last half an hour was one of the best half an hours of my life!! It reminded me alot of Cabin in the Woods - it’s a bit weird/slow/boring even crappy and then BAM A MASSIVE LOAD OF AWESOME ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NOWHERE!! (I’m obviously referring to the underground lab part) but yeah this movie was done on a rather low budget so I have read which is quite obvious at the start but boy is the ending fun and chaotic and I just adored it! It also helped them that they filmed the ending in an actual running haunted house attraction with all the staff actors/performers who work there all the time playing their roles. Overall yes this movie was pretty terrible for two thirds but the last bit was awesome and totally makes sitting through the start worth it!

Rating: 2/thirds of the movie = neutral and the last third obviously a favourite!! Yes I say it is possible!

Remember if you watch a movie you found through my reviews let me know what you thought!
Excision (2012) R18+
A disturbed and delusional high school student with aspirations of a career in medicine goes to extremes to earn the approval of her controlling mother.

Paranoir review: a new favourite. I love my weird/abstract arty film festival mindfuck movies. The sort of movies you don’t understand and leave you thinking. This movie was amazing and it’s been nice to find another movie like this in the drought of quality horror movies.

The Cabin In The Woods (2011) R18+ Main Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison.
Five teenagers head off for a weekend at a secluded cabin in the woods. They arrive to find they are quite isolated with no means of communicating with the outside world. When the cellar door flings itself open, they of course go down to investigate. They find an odd assortment of relics and curios but when one of the women, Dana, reads from a book she awakens a family of deadly zombie killers. There’s far more going on however than meets the eye as the five campers are all under observation
Personal opinion: The first half/three quarters of this movie I wasn’t sure at all where it was going or what was happening or how I felt about it. But then. THEN I was on the edge of my seat screeching with excitement. That’s all I’m saying :3

The stranger Robert Mallory tells her that the headmaster of a boarding school in Rookford had invited her to travel to Cumbria to investigate a ghost that is frightening the pupils to death. He also tells that many years ago there was a murder in the estate and recently pupil Walter Portman had died. The reluctant Florence finally accepts to go to Cumbria. Soon Florence discovers what had happened to Walter and then the students, teachers and staff are released on vacation, and Florence remains alone with Robert, Maud and Tom in the school. Florence is ready to leave the boarding school when strange things happen, leaving Florence scared.
A bit of a slow but creepy movie. I had been waiting to see this for a while. Set in a nice old building and somewhat reminiscent of The Others, I did enjoy the movie and think that it would be a good watch. Especially for any lovers of classic ghost stories.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (2012) R18+ Main Cast: Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth WinsteadAt the age of 9, Abraham Lincoln witnesses his mother being killed by a vampire, Jack Barts. Some 10 years later, he unsuccessfully tries to eliminate Barts but in the process makes the acquaintance of Henry Sturgess who teaches him how to fight and what is required to kill a vampire. The quid pro quo is that Abe will kill only those vampires that Henry directs him to. Abe relocates to Springfield where he gets a job as a store clerk while he studies the law and kills vampires by night. He also meets and eventually marries the pretty Mary Todd. Many years later as President of the United States, he comes to realize that vampires are fighting with the Confederate forces. As a result he mounts his own campaign to defeat them.
I won’t say too much on this because it has only just come out, I went and saw it the Friday night just past and I did enjoy it alot more than other Vampire movies. I even enjoyed it more than the first two Underworld movies (NOTHING ever beats Rise of the Lycans) Let me say this, I am a huge Vampire fan (I’ve never even touched a Twilight book) and I like real traditional/folkloric Vampires. So no ‘rings to stop the sun burning you’ etc etc 1. I did not like the teeth of the Vampires in this movie, I like the simple one set of fangs, these ones had full mouths of fangs. 2. I would have preferred that they went into more detail about how the Vampires adapted to the sunlight as that COULD be an excusable adaptation to the whole concept if thought of well..
I wasn’t too sure how I felt about the whole Abe Lincoln thing but I was also not aware that it was done by the mashup novelist Seth Grahame-Smith, who did the well known pride prejudice and zombies, until I sort of tossed around the whole idea in my head whilst watching the movie and looked it up afterwards. Anyway overall, I like Vampires in ‘olden times’ Rise of the Lycans is my favorite because I LOVE medieval times and this one hit a real soft spot for me because I say sometimes nothing looked more awesome then the silhouette of Abe in his trench and top hat spinning that brutal axe. Damn.

Babysitter Wanted (2008) R18+ In a small college town, a young girl working on a babysitting job in a rural farm is terrorized throughout the night.
So I had heard the name of this movie thrown round a bit so decided to hire it and watch it, the name and everything is sort of misleading. I mean I refuse to give away spoiler-esque details but it reminded me alot of Let the Right One in, and also something like When a Stranger Calls. Not terrible, worth a watch atleast once I would say :)
